MEDIA ADVISORY - TOWNSHIP OF IGNACE WILLINGNESS PROCESS - COMMUNITY RESULTS JULY 10 2024.

Invitation: Media Advisory and Invitation to Attend a Special Council Meeting
Followed by a Press Conference on Willingness Decision Day for the
Township of Ignace for the potential hosting of the NWMO Deep
Geological Repository Project to store Canada’s Used Nuclear Fuel
Time: Wednesday July 10, 2024, at 3:00 pm sharp
Where: The Township of Ignace Recreation Complex at 200 Beaver Street
Events: The Willingness Ad Hoc Committee that was established to review, analyze,
and make recommendations to Township Council will be making their final
report and recommendations to Township Council on the potential to
continue or not on the DGR siting project by the Nuclear Waste Management
Organization (NWMO). They will present results from the With Chela Inc.
study and community vote that was conducted between April 26-30, 2024.

Please join Mr. Roger Dufault, Committee Co-chair, Members of the Willingness Ad Hoc
Committee and Mayor Baigrie and Township Council on this very important day to hear
first-hand the results and recommendations from this Committee’s work.
The delegation and presentation to Township Council will begin at 3:00 pm sharp by Mr.
Roger Dufault, the Committee’s Co-chair.
A Special Meeting of Council will be held and a resolution, for or against the continuance of
the Township in its willingness process with NWMO, will be endorsed after Council hears
the results of the study and recommendations made by the Willingness Ad Hoc Committee
for the first time in public.A Press Conference will be held immediately after the close of the Special Council Meeting,
approximately 3:30 - 4:00 pm for all media members attending and will also be available via
Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
